Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn Make First Red Carpet Appearance Together at Met Gala

Three years ago, Tiger Woods found himself in full-on disgraced mode, was splitting with his wife, and had just lost a bunch of sponsors thanks to his infidelity scandal. What a difference 1005 days make.
The annual Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art may be full of A-list actresses and fashion icons, but this year, all eyes were on the pro golfer as he made his first red carpet appearance with his new girlfriend, Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn, on Monday night.
Though the event’s theme was “Punk: From Chaos to Couture” this year, the couple didn’t go the punk route. Instead, Woods, 37, donned a classic tux with a long tie, while Vonn, 28, showed off her buff arms in a sleeveless cream gown accented with sheer paneling.

After rumors began swirling earlier this year that Vonn and Woods were an item, the two confirmed the news in March in true 21st-century style: by posting professionally shot photos of themselves together on their Facebook pages.
"This season has been great so far and I'm happy with my wins at Torrey and Doral. Something nice that's happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn. Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating,” Woods wrote along with the pic. “We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes."

Vonn put up her own post a short time later: "I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods," she shared. "Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy. I don't plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends. Thank you for understanding and your continued support! xo LV."
The two athletes reportedly met in April 2012 and struck up a romantic relationship that fall. Just last month, Vonn showed the world she was indeed the supportive girlfriend when she flew to Augusta, Georgia, to watch Woods compete in the Masters.
The Olympic champion not only cheered on her beau but even dressed like him on the last day of the competition on April 14, sporting a red polo and black shorts to match the attire of her golf pro beau, who donned a red shirt and black pants while out on the links.
(Woods almost always wears red during the final rounds of tournaments and has said it’s because his mother believes it’s a "power color.")
And while Tiger didn't win the green jacket, it sounds like he ended up with something else pretty important: His mom’s approval.
Kultida Woods was seen chatting with Vonn on the sidelines much of the day. "Lindsey spent a lot of time with Tiger's mom," a source told omg!. "It looked like [Kultida] really enjoyed her."
